Questions?

We Have Answers.

We know starting therapy can feel overwhelming.

Here are answers to the most common questions about our practice, services, and what to expect.

Getting Started

How do i schedule my first appointment?

1

You can schedule a free consultation by visiting our Contact page or clicking the 'Free Consultation' button on our website. During this brief call, we'll discuss your needs, answer your questions, and determine if we're a good fit for working together.

What happens during the free consulation?

2

The free consultation is a brief 15 minute call where we discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you have about the process. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to decide if this feels like the right fit.

What can I expect in my first full session?

3

Your first full session (intake) typically lasts 50–60 minutes. We'll review your history, discuss your current concerns in more depth, and collaboratively set goals for therapy. This is also a time to establish comfort and trust in the therapeutic relationship.

How often will we meet?

4

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic foundation. As you progress, we may transition to biweekly sessions. The frequency is always tailored to your needs and goals.

ABout therapy services

What is financial therapy?

1

Financial therapy integrates therapeutic techniques with financial health concepts. As a Certified Financial Therapist (CFT™), we will help you explore the emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects of your relationship with money — including financial anxiety, inherited money beliefs, compulsive spending, and financial conflict in relationships.

Do you offer couples therapy?

Yes. Couples therapy is available for partners seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, address sexual intimacy concerns, or strengthen their overall relationship. Both partners attend sessions together via our secure telehealth platform.

What is group therapy like?

3

Group therapy brings together a small number of individuals who share similar experiences or goals. Groups provide a supportive environment for learning, sharing, and growing together. Current offerings include financial wellness support groups and psychoeducational workshops.

What issues do you specialize in?

4

TIMA Therapist specializes in three core areas: financial wellness (money anxiety, spending behaviors, financial conflict), relationship challenges (communication, boundaries, emotional abuse recovery), and sexual intimacy (desire discrepancy, intimacy after trauma, sexual communication). We also work with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

5

Our primary modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy. These evidence-based approaches are tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring that therapy is both effective and personally meaningful.

Logistics & Practicalities

Is therapy fully online?

1

Yes. TIMA Therapist is a fully online (telehealth) practice. All sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows you to attend therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space — whether at home, in your parked car, or wherever you feel safe.

Which states do you serve?

2

Fatima Lundy is licensed in both New York (LMHC) and New Jersey (LPC). You must be physically located in one of these states during your session to receive services.

3

Individual and couples sessions typically last 50–60 minutes. Group sessions run approximately 60–90 minutes depending on the program. Session length may be adjusted based on clinical need.

What is your cancellation policy?

4

We ask for at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. We understand that life happens, and we'll always work with you compassionately when unexpected circumstances arise.

Please contact us directly to discuss current insurance acceptance and out-of-network options. We can provide superbills (detailed receipts) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
